Piano care
- General polishing ~ use only the Yamaha Piano Polish and soft cotton cloth provided. Spray a fine mist over a large area and wipe to a shine. Do Not rub hard and avoid using too much of the polish or it will be difficult to buff clear. (Supplies usually in the Concert Hall Piano Closet or the light control closet backstage)
- Keep covers on all pianos whenever possible ~ lids and keyboard covers closed
- Estonia 9' Grand ~ Concert Hall Stage
- Brass wheel locks and lid locks ~ these are BRASS and MUST NOT BE TURNED HARD!!! They will hold their locked position with a light touch. Turning hard to lock them can damage the mechanisms. Preferably no-one but Symphony Personel should handle the equipment.
- Always lock the wheels after positioning the piano on stage to avoid accidental movement. It should never be placed too close to the front of the stage.
Don't apply the locks when the piano is stowed in the closet
- When putting the piano in the closet ~ make sure all obstacles are clear, and get enough distance on your approach to get the piano moving in a good straight line before crossing into the closet. It rolls in easiest if you have some momentum working for you but avoid going too fast ~ it can have a mind of its own and it is like trying to wrestle a horse
- Yamaha Upright ~ Banquet Hall Stage
- Vary small brass castors currently on this piano are very damaging to the hardwood floor. Untill the time new castors are installed, it should only be moved on the four-wheel piano dolly. This requires two people for lifting and handling the cart. Again only Authorized personel should move this piano.
- Moving offstage ~ to the closet on the right of stage ~ make sure there are no obstacles in the way and roll it against the wall in front of the boarded up window ~ cover with the cotton bed sheet provided and cover with the plastic tablecloth on top.
- Yamaha 6' Grand ~ Theatre Stage
- Fits best off stage to the left in the corner ~ keyboard towards the south wall
- should always be covered when not in use
- After positioning on stage ~ apply wheel locks ~ GENTLY!
and turn castors away from the room, so the chrome wheels mounts do not reflect the stage lights

Room Layouts ~
Set-up guidelines and consideration
- Keep pathways to and from all doorways. On the first floor do not place anything within eight feet of the glass doors, as to not inhibit passageway between Advance Company doors. Assume their staff could need thru at any time
Notes and Samples of how to set up the different rooms, table arrangements, things to consider, and avoid ~ I'm thinking this should be posted as a public page of its own so Prospective Clients can reference it. Room layouts, limitations ~ options for placing different services etc.
