Current needs and repairs
- 15Feb06 ~ sink in long kitchen needs to be securely mounted and have the pipes tightened
- 05Jan06 ~ The large rolling rack the Press provided has been, I'm sure, the greatest labor saving piece we have, and has made life on the fourth floor tolerable. With the changes taking place and storage moving to the basement, it would be of great value to have several more racks, up to five or six, but hopefully at least two or three.
- need has been seen on a few occasions that we could use more coat racks ~ Winter events (concerts in particular sometimes end up with not enough rack space for either performers or public ( the double Department Store rack does the job in the public coatroom for now)
~ 05Jan2006
- 2 or 3 more New trash cans ~ large Kitchen style ~ 05Jan2006
- large linen hanger ~ fix small linen hanger ~ 05Jan2006
- insert for hot bar {have one? need three more}
~ trays for proofing rack (dimensions 15"x18 - 20" ?)
- 10June05 ~ we could really use two more large coat racks ~ so we can have one in each dressing room and two in the coat room
- fixed 18Nov05 ~ 3 Florescent light fixtures are non-op at the moment ~ one is backstage Concert Hall and the other two are sidestage Banquet Hall beyond the kitchen. The light bachstage Concert Hall has all new bulbs in it and still does not light.
- {15 Feb 06 note these fixtures have quit completely} the stairway florescent on the second floor landing, even with all new bulbs
- 12 foot ladder to access lights on the theatre stage
- better (bigger or softer) castors for Banquet Hall piano
- Done Aughust 05 ~ dispose of paint remnants from original renovation all cans are verified unusable - all that may be usefull are numbers or marking but these specs should all be on someone's file beside that can markings
- install cabinets somewhere
- rolling cart racks for music stands ~ I have a design spect if you want to see it
- chocolate chip cookies
Questions & Considerations
- Q}15 Feb 06 ~ The ducting into the piano closet should be discontinued altogether, or at least fit with a cover that is closeable to a tight seal. Particularly when the heater is running, the temperature of the piano closet fluctuates wildly
A}
- The maroon couch and chair in the main public area hallway have very small hardwood floor buttons on their feet. These little button feet leave divots in the carpet that do not relax out. Should we put some sort of coasters under the feet (10 total) to keep down carpet wear?

Operating Policies and Courtesies
- Candles ~ must always have some sort of catch container sufficient for the candle used. Keep in mind drafts from our rather ample air-conditioners
~In the Banquet Hall, the tables in the corners, and particularly in the entryway corner, are subject to drafting from several directions. During an event with lots of candles and AC running, watch for candles burning wild. Quite often you will see one or two tables having a problem, and will occasionally have to step in and blow them out or move to a more protected spot. People at those tables will sometimes notice the problem themselves and fix it, but not always
~ On the Concert Hall Stage, especially weddings, people like to use candles, sometimes a lot, and often tall tapers. Burning candles on stage with the AC fans running will invariably cause them to burn wild and drip uncontrollably. Coordinate with the family exactly when they want to light the candles and have the Hall good comfortable temperature in advance, so you can turn the stage unit off when the candles are lit. Weddings are usually short enough, comfort has never been an issue for the duration. ~ 16Jan06
- Reader Board ~ to be used for all occasions ~ usually set between front lobby doors. Have in place as early as possible, even for setting up the day before for weddings receptions. Not only does this make people feel special and welcome, it gives chance to verify it reads the way the client likes, and time to correct potential embarassing mistakes. ~ 16Jan06
- Moving in and out ~ rolling rack to caterers and DJs ~
VERY IMPORTANT ~ Check ALL rolling equipment coming in or going out of the building. DJ's, caterers and others often have rolling carts they use to bring in equipment. Occasionally people will have a cart with a bad castor or one with the brake dragging. You must not let them proceed pushing a cart with a dragging castor accoss the floors or carpet, or difficult to fix damage can result
- Always have large trash cans in kitchens ~ at least one each ~ at least two cans for larger groups, as well as the black six-side containers for the public area. Events that that use a lot of disposable plates and glasses may need to be emptied before the night is over
- Suggest Staff to park on far side of parking lot by lawyers office and away from street to leave all the closest spaces open for guests

Miscellaneous items
- Roach covers for drains in maintenance closet ~ both drains must have their covers in place whenever not in use, to keep out the large roaming sewer roaches. The cover to the right of the water heater is where the AC condensation line empties. There is a hole that must ramain centered and close to the end of the pipe, so it drains instead of spilling.
- I usually ask that the Program table by the elevator should always have Symphony literature available. People do often take them on a regular basis. A rare Wedding Reception may ask they be put away so they can use the space, but most events they are left there
